The limited edition celebrates the shared history of the two brands through the partnership’s first bouldering outfit and the return of the 1998 Theta AR, updated with state-of-the-art materials and technologies.
Twenty years and five years ago, Arc’teryx and BEAMS began building a dialogue between technical apparel and fashion culture. Today, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their partnership and BEAMS’ 50th anniversary, the two brands present the Arc’teryx x BEAMS “Anniversary Collection”—a limited-edition Fall/Winter 2026 release that brings together some of the most significant touchstones of their shared history and interprets them through a new selection of garments and accessories.
Key pieces in the collection include the first bouldering outfit born from the partnership and a reissue of the 1998 Theta AR—one of the iconic models from the collaboration’s early days. The project thus bridges the demands of technical performance with a personal, contemporary approach to clothing, suitable for urban environments as well.

A story born between the mountains of British Columbia and the streets of Harajuku.
Arc’teryx originated in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, born of a relentless pursuit of product improvement driven by a philosophy that prioritizes performance, functional construction, and minimalist design. In the late 1990s, this approach caught the eye of Kei Hirosawa—then a fashion buyer for BEAMS—who recognized that the Canadian brand’s technical solutions held potential reaching far beyond the traditional outdoor sector.
Founded in Harajuku in 1976, BEAMS was already a major cultural landmark, distinguished by its ability to reinterpret global influences through a deeply Japanese aesthetic sensibility.
In 2001, Hirosawa launched the first project with Arc’teryx, introducing iconic products from the Canadian brand—such as the Arro backpack and the Theta AR jacket—to the world of BEAMS. This initiative, which began in Japan, steadily expanded to reach an international audience while remaining true to the collaboration’s core principle: bringing Arc’teryx’s expertise in technical mountain apparel into a broader context where performance and style can engage with contemporary culture.
“From the very beginning, the goal has always been to grow together and create something completely new from scratch,” explains Kei Hirosawa, a former fashion buyer at BEAMS. “These garments are designed for climbing, skiing, and experiencing the mountains safely. Yet, they embody ideas that go far beyond the boundaries of traditional outdoor apparel, bringing together people from every corner of the globe.”
“For 25 years, Arc’teryx and BEAMS have united two worlds, creating garments that are both trend-setting and mountain-ready,” explains Katie Becker, Chief Creative Officer at Arc’teryx. “What binds us together is a constant drive to improve and an ongoing dialogue between performance and creativity; it is this shared instinct that has allowed our partnership to endure for so long. Born of our passion for climbing, this collection celebrates our two design languages and showcases just how far this collaboration can go.”

KŌYŌ, THE COLORS OF THE JAPANESE AUTUMN
The Anniversary Collection’s palette draws inspiration from “Kōyō,” the Japanese term for autumn foliage. The changing landscape during the season thus serves as the starting point for an aesthetic sensibility that views this transformation as a natural part of the seasonal cycle.
BEAMS’ signature “Crazy Pattern” is also reinterpreted using this color palette, featuring autumnal tones and accented by the brand’s iconic orange.
“This collaboration is a special milestone, celebrating both BEAMS’ 50th anniversary and our 25-year partnership with Arc’teryx. Building on the history our two brands have created together, we are delighted to continue tackling new challenges,” says Keita Kobayashi, menswear buyer at BEAMS.
“In addition to celebrating our journey together, we are laying the foundations for a new chapter that we look forward to experiencing. We thank everyone who has supported this partnership over the years. We look to the future with enthusiasm and hope that BEAMS and Arc’teryx continue to inspire one another and improve together.”
