FREITAG has partnered with Public Possession, an independent record label based in Munich, for a limited-edition collection of messenger bags crafted from repurposed large-scale banners previously used in the brand’s installations and events. The project brings together design, music, and a culture of reuse.
FREITAG joins forces with Public Possession, an independent record label based in Munich, to create an exclusive collection of messenger bags. For this collaboration, the Swiss brand sets aside—at least for once—its signature repurposed truck tarps, opting instead to reclaim large banners used for installations and events organized by Public Possession.
Over the years, the Bavarian label has built an international reputation thanks to a creative universe that spans everything from new musical productions and events to graphic design, streetwear, and various other expressions of contemporary culture.

NICE MESSENGER BAGS: from the world of events to a new life for FREITAG bags
For the limited-edition NICE MESSENGER BAGS, FREITAG and Public Possession selected 13 banners used at various events, transforming them into unique accessories. The individual artworks—featuring the distinctive graphic style of P.P.—had been screen-printed onto 4 × 5-meter truck tarpaulins, which were made primarily from production offcuts from a specialized German company.
The banners were initially used for an installation by Public Possession, first presented during a festival at the Haus der Kunst in Munich. Subsequently, they traveled through Germany and Switzerland, with stops at a festival in Berlin and an event organized in collaboration with FREITAG at the brand’s flagship store in Zurich.
Once their journey came to an end, the large tarps were taken down, washed, and transported to the FREITAG facilities, where they were cut and crafted into new messenger bags. In this way, each piece retains a part of its own past, transforming previously used materials into accessories with a unique, one-of-a-kind identity.

F40-PP JAMIE and F14-PP DEXTER: two models, a distinctive graphic identity
The FREITAG x Public Possession collaboration includes two models: the F40-PP JAMIE—a waist bag and shoulder bag—and the classic F14-PP DEXTER messenger bag.
Both stand out for their striking color combination of snow white and deep blue, contrasted by Public Possession’s vibrant red logo, positioned next to the FREITAG label. Rounding off the design, a special fabric tag attached to the shoulder strap celebrates the collaboration between the two brands.
Each bag also comes with the fanzine *NICE MESSENGER BAGS*, which briefly recounts the genesis of the project and the journey of the banners—from their original installations to their transformation into new accessories.

Where to buy the limited edition FREITAG x Public Possession
The NICE MESSENGER BAGS are available as a limited edition exclusively through the two brands’ official channels: on the FREITAG website, the Public Possession website, and at the P.P. store in Munich.
