An unexpected runway appearance heralds the collaboration between the two brands, expected to hit the market in May 2027.
MM6 Maison Margiela and Havaianas are previewing their collaboration during the MM6 Fall/Winter 2026 fashion show, ahead of the full collection launch scheduled for May 2027. It is a seemingly unexpected pairing that finds expression on the runway through a new, sophisticated design interpretation centered on the number six.
MM6 offers distinctive garments that take shape through the wearer: they are “ready when worn,” completed by the interaction with the body and the personality of the person wearing them.
Havaianas—an icon recognized and worn worldwide—thus meets the unconventional vision of MM6. Together, the two brands invite us to view something instantly familiar in a new light: Havaianas brings a recognizable icon, while MM6 reinterprets it through an experimental and deconstructive lens.
The collaboration reinterprets an archetypal element of everyday life, transforming and multiplying the classic rubber flip-flop into two distinctive expressions.
Two new interpretations of the Havaianas flip-flop
Taking center stage on the runway are the Slim 6Toe—a silhouette inspired by the shape of the bare foot and distinguished by a unique sixth toe—and the Top 6Layers, which push the collaboration’s deconstructive approach to its boldest expression.
Created exclusively for the fashion show, the Top 6Layers are born from the layering of six differently shaped Havaianas soles, assembled into a deliberately irregular platform. This process transforms one of the brand’s most recognizable elements into a new structure, where repetition becomes a distinctive design feature.
The number six as a creative code
The number six drives the design language of the collaboration, directly referencing MM6 and offering a new way to reinterpret Havaianas’ distinctive codes. Within the collection, the brand’s familiar elements thus become the starting point for a process of repetition, alteration, and unexpected transformation.
The collaboration arrives in May 2027.
The full MM6 Maison Margiela x Havaianas collaboration will be available starting in May 2027. The Top 6Layers, created exclusively for the runway, will not be available for sale.
