Prowinter, the B2B event dedicated to the outdoor and winter sports sectors, is gearing up for its 27th edition, reaffirming its role as a key reference point for the winter mountain industry. The event will return to Fiera Bolzano from Sunday, January 10, to Tuesday, January 12, 2027, featuring a revamped format, expanded exhibition space, and an increasingly prominent international profile.

Building on the results of recent editions, Prowinter 2027 aims to welcome a growing number of professionals by expanding exhibition areas and increasing exhibitor participation. A key feature of the new edition will be internationalization, with the goal of attracting decision-makers and industry players from diverse markets to Bolzano, thereby strengthening the event’s role as a hub for networking, innovation, and industry dialogue.

Skiing, winter sports, and the outdoors: Prowinter’s identity expands.

The 27th edition reinforces the event’s hybrid nature, linking the traditional world of skiing and snow sports with an offering increasingly oriented towards the outdoors.

Against this backdrop, Prowinter Outdoor returns, set to launch in 2027 with an even larger footprint and growing strategic importance. The exhibition halls will host companies and organizations from various countries, thanks in part to partnerships with associations in key markets such as the United States, China, France, and other European nations.

This international focus will be further reinforced by the return of the Scandinavian Village, once again appearing alongside the Italian Outdoor Village. It represents a meeting—both symbolic and tangible—between Northern and Southern Europe, designed to bring together the sector’s diverse areas of excellence in a single space and foster new opportunities for exchange.

The goal is to provide retailers, rental operators, and industry professionals with a comprehensive overview of the key new products for the upcoming season, creating an ecosystem where winter sports equipment and technologies interact with solutions designed for outdoor living and activities.

“Prowinter 2027 tells the story of how the mountain world is changing: today, it is increasingly open, international, and attentive to future challenges,” says Geraldine Coccagna, Brand Manager of Prowinter.

“This year, we have expanded not only the trade fair’s exhibition space but also the range of topics and opportunities for dialogue. From innovations introduced by startups and outreach to the global outdoor market to discussions on climate change, Prowinter aims to serve as a key reference point for anyone seeking to understand and navigate the future of the winter business.”

Prowinter Award 2027: more international and new categories

A key highlight of the new edition will be the Prowinter Award 2027, which has been further revamped to identify products with the greatest market potential. The award serves as a strategic tool to boost the visibility and value of the products presented by brands, going beyond the mere role of an accolade.

This year, the Award is also strengthening its international dimension: each jury will include a member from abroad, further broadening the award’s perspective.

The 2027 Special Prize categories will include sections dedicated to snowboarding and eyewear, focusing specifically on models, lenses, technologies, and solutions. A new addition will be the ITAS Safety Award—an accolade spanning both the ski and outdoor sectors—dedicated to safety and focusing on helmets for the 2027 edition.

Applications for the Prowinter Award 2027 are already open on the official Prowinter website.

Prowinter To The Peak brings startups to the heart of the trade fair.

Among the most significant new features of Prowinter 2027 is the debut of “Prowinter To The Peak,” a project born from the collaboration between Fiera Bolzano and To The Peak designed to connect innovations from startups in the ski and outdoor sectors with the B2B world.

The official call for applications will remain open until October 25 and will lead to the selection of up to 10 innovative ventures. The selected startups will have the opportunity to present their projects within the new Start-up Village, a space dedicated to innovation.

On Monday, January 11, at 11:30 AM, the selected companies will also take part in a pitch session, with each startup having a few minutes to present itself to investors, the press, and industry professionals.

Networking will continue beyond the event’s standard hours with the traditional Prowinter Party. Scheduled for Sunday evening, the event will be open to exhibitors and visitors alike, rounding off the fair’s opening day with a more informal gathering designed to foster meetings, the exchange of ideas, and new connections among companies, professionals, and industry media.

Sustainability and climate at the heart of the program

Finally, sustainability will continue to be one of the pillars of Prowinter, playing an increasingly visible role within the trade fair experience.

From Tuesday, January 12 to Thursday, January 14, 2027, the Ski Industry Climate Summit—an international event dedicated to climate challenges and sustainability in the mountain industry—will return to Fiera Bolzano. Industry professionals and key players will engage in discussions through keynotes, presentations, and roundtables focused on the transformations awaiting the sector in the coming years.
