Two ropes, one sole, and now zero glue. KEEN presents the UNEEK 360, the new model in the UNEEK line that reinterprets the brand’s iconic open-air sneaker in an even more circular version. The new shoe supports the Detox the Planet initiative thanks to an innovative, modular, and completely solvent-free design.

A project that supports the Detox the Planet initiative
On the path to making ever cleaner footwear, KEEN aims to eliminate toxic chemicals from its production. The Detox the Planet initiative, launched in 2014, has led the brand to invest over 11,000 hours and more than $1.2 million to eliminate PFAS from its footwear.
Of the six major classes of toxic chemicals found in consumer products, KEEN has already eliminated or avoided five. The company is now continuing its work on reducing the last remaining category: solvents commonly used in shoe adhesives. UNEEK 360 represents KEEN‘s first completely solvent-free shoe.
Recycled materials and circular construction
The UNEEK 360 also adopts a circular approach in its material selection and construction. The model features a removable knit upper and articulated cords made from recycled plastic bottles. The abrasion-resistant hybrid rubber and foam outsole offers lightweight, high-traction, and durability. Like all KEEN footwear, this model also uses a natural odor control system that is safe and free of harmful antimicrobials.
