This spring, Patagonia launches Disaster Style, a new short film series that follows mountaineer Zoe Hart as she navigates backcountry skiing, life at altitude, and the messy, joyful realities of raising two boys—Mika and Mathias—in the mountains with her husband, Max.

Filmed in Italy and France, the series explores how two parents bring their children into the wild places that shaped them. From ski trips to coastal climbing to quiet days spent growing food at home, Disaster Style is a portrait of parenthood that embraces adventure, danger and the unpredictable.

“If you push your kids beyond what they think is possible – whether it’s cold, tired or wet – they’ll learn that they have the capacity to do much more than they thought they could,” says Zoe, an American mountain guide based in Chamonix and one of the few women to have achieved IFMGA (International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations) certification.

Zoe and Max have spent their lives chasing extreme slopes and lofty peaks. Now they’re learning to share those spaces—and the joy, risk, and meaning they bring—with their children.

Directed by Pierre Cadot of Yucca Films, Disaster Style will be presented in select European cities throughout the month of May. Screenings will include conversations about family, nature and new connections in an ever-changing world.
