Ortovox arrives at the crag
Ortovox, a German brand with 45 years of experience in alpine clothing and equipment, has decided to bring its expertise to the world of climbing. Summer 2026 marks the debut of the Affinity collection, designed specifically for sport climbing enthusiasts, and the highlight is clear: the Affinity Plus Pants.
Born to move vertically
The fabric is a 4-way stretch 90% polyamide and 10% elastane—durable, water-repellent, abrasion-resistant, and windproof. The fit is regular, but the cut is designed for climbing: a gusset in the crotch for maximum freedom of movement, pre-shaped and reinforced knee area, and flat pockets that don’t get in the way. The leg cuffs are adjustable. No frills, nothing that can get caught on the wall.
The project isn’t just validated by laboratory tests: the Affinity Plus Pants have been tested and recommended by the VDBS, the professional association of German mountain and ski mountaineering guides. This seal of approval speaks volumes about the seriousness of the approach.
“Sport climbing represents a logical progression for Ortovox,” explains Sibylle Egele, the brand’s product director. “Thanks to our experience developing highly durable products suited to the changing conditions of the mountains, we are perfectly equipped to offer sport climbing enthusiasts an authentic and carefully designed collection.”

A complete collection, from the first puff to the coffee
The Affinity Plus Pants aren’t alone. The Affinity collection includes shorts, organic cotton pants, merino wool blend hoodies, a rope bag, and a 42-liter roll-top backpack for approach routes. Technical materials—merino wool, organic cotton, textile-to-textile recycled polyester—are chosen based on the intended use, with a style that works well off the crag.
All products are available in men’s and women’s versions, with separate color palettes and sizes from XS to XL (women) and from S to XXL (men).
