The growing popularity of hiking brings with it new requirements: lightness, contemporary design, and performance must all come together in versatile footwear—suitable for everything from a day outdoors to a multi-day trek. The Columbia Peakfreak™ collection addresses this evolution with a range designed to offer a balance of support and protection, tailored to the terrain, distance, and type of activity.

At the core of the collection lies Columbia’s approach to practical, accessible innovation. OutDry™ waterproof, breathable technology, Techlite+™ cushioning, the NAVIC FIT SYSTEM™, and specialized traction solutions work in tandem to ensure comfort, stability, and security, even in changing conditions. Lightweight materials and modern construction round out a range of agile, responsive footwear designed to tackle a variety of terrains.

Columbia Peakfreak™ Titanium: performance on technical terrain

Leading the evolution of the family is the new Peakfreak™ Titanium, the most technical model in the range. Designed for demanding hikes and challenging terrain, it represents the highest-performing option in the collection. Available in both low and mid versions for men and women, it combines lightweight materials with premium technologies to deliver stability, protection, and security, even in the most variable conditions.

The engineered mesh upper, reinforced by the Geo-Cage support structure, works in tandem with the NAVIC FIT SYSTEM™ to keep the foot stable and securely held in place. Techlite+™ cushioning and a stabilizing TPU insert help absorb impact and provide support with every step, even over long distances.

The Vibram® Megagrip outsole, featuring 5 mm lugs, ensures excellent grip on wet rock, scree, and muddy trails—a combination that makes the Peakfreak™ Titanium particularly well-suited for tackling the most technical terrain.

Columbia Peakfreak™ III: one of the most popular models gets an update

Alongside the Titanium line, Columbia introduces the Peakfreak™ III—the latest generation of one of the brand’s most successful hiking models. Available in both low and mid versions, it retains the strengths of its predecessors while incorporating updates designed to enhance comfort, support, and performance.

The updated upper combines seamless reinforcements with an enhanced Geo-Cage structure, providing greater protection in areas most prone to wear. OutDry™ waterproof technology shields against the elements, while the combination of Techlite+™ cushioning and a Techlite™ Eco insole ensures comfort and responsiveness all day long.

The Adapt Trax™ outsole features a new tread pattern with 4 mm multidirectional lugs, designed to provide grip on both dry and wet surfaces. The structure of the outsole in the midfoot area also helps to improve stability.

The result is a versatile piece of footwear, suitable for day hikes and everyday outdoor activities, which combines protection and comfort with a construction designed to handle various types of terrain.

Available in both low and mid versions, the Peakfreak Hera™ features a fit designed specifically for the female foot, incorporating elements that provide comfort and support while hiking. Targeted comfort zones, specialized heel cushioning, padding on the tongue beneath the laces, and a Met-Flex design in the forefoot all work together to enhance the fit, flexibility, and overall comfort while on the move.

The features are rounded out by OutDry™ waterproof protection, Techlite+™ cushioning, the NAVIC FIT SYSTEM™ support system, and Adapt Trax™ traction. The result is a hiking shoe designed to move with you on the trails, offering stability, security, and comfort across various terrains and conditions.

The new Columbia Peakfreak™ lineup—featuring the Peakfreak™ Titanium, Peakfreak™ III, and Peakfreak Hera™ models—represents the most comprehensive range the brand has developed to date for this family of footwear.

A collection that lets you choose the level of performance best suited to your needs, while keeping comfort, protection, and reliability at its core—values that have defined Peakfreak™ for over a decade.
