What really matters is not the weight you carry, but how little you notice it while walking. This is the principle that guided Gregory in developing the next generation of its flagship trekking backpacks. For the Summer 2026 season, the brand presents updated versions of the BALTORO for men and the DEVA for women, two models designed to offer greater comfort, stability, and adaptability on the most challenging trails.

Dynamic Comfort
The suspension system is based on a perimeter steel frame with fiberglass cross-support, designed to keep the load close to the hiker’s center of gravity. The patented FreeFloat dynamic hipbelt, connected to the external frame via flexible panels, allows for natural freedom of movement even when the pack is fully loaded. This system helps reduce fatigue, minimizes joint stress, and increases comfort on long hikes.
The three-dimensional structure of the lumbar belt envelops the pelvis and lower back, effectively transferring weight to the hips. The padding uses a special combination of three different-density foams, supported by a rigid HDPE central insert that allows the system to adapt to different body shapes, reducing the formation of pressure points.
In the DEVA model, the hip belt features a more pronounced slope to accommodate the different female anatomy. The pre-curved 3D shoulder straps also follow this design philosophy, offering a more natural fit. Each shoulder strap is mounted independently and can rotate freely, promoting even load distribution.
The AirCushion backrest is made with a proprietary 3D mesh composed of over 90% air. This next-generation solution improves ventilation, reduces contact points with the back, and promotes effective moisture and heat management. Thanks to their close-fitting design, BALTORO and DEVA keep the load close to the body, improving stability and weight distribution.
In short, the FreeFloat™ A3 system allows the backpack to follow the hiker’s movements, avoiding the drag effect on the back and ensuring a feeling of greater lightness while walking.

A unique customization
The Adaptable Fit System is one of the distinctive features of the new generation BALTORO and DEVA. The system allows for customizable fit without the use of interchangeable components, adapting the backpack to the needs of each user.
Women’s models are available in sizes XS, S, and M, while men’s models are available in sizes S, M, and L. All versions feature adjustable torso length up to 3 inches, hip belt up to 3.5 inches per side (7 inches total), and shoulder straps up to 1.5 inches. Those who need a longer or shorter waist belt can simply choose a different backpack size.

Load organization
The internal organization has been designed for convenience and immediate access to your gear. The large front opening with a U-shaped zipper allows for easy access to the main compartment and efficient organization of contents.
The bottom section features a sleeping bag compartment with a removable divider. Stretch mesh front and side pockets keep your most-used items close at hand during your hike.
For the 2026 collection, Gregory has further increased wear resistance by introducing front and hip belt pockets made of highly abrasion-resistant 420D nylon. The SideWinder water bottle holder has also been reinforced, while still maintaining the practicality of one-handed use without having to remove the pack.
For hydration users, an internal clip and dedicated pocket ensure compatibility with Gregory 3D reservoirs. The floating top pocket features two additional zippered compartments, including a quick-access pocket with a key clip. The hipbelt pockets are large enough to accommodate smartphones and GPS devices.
The BALTORO and DEVA also offer effective protection against adverse weather conditions. The stretch pocket on the shoulder strap provides secure storage for sunglasses, while the integrated rain cover is located at the bottom of the top pocket for quick access. The larger-capacity models also include numerous attachment points for trekking poles, ice axes, bear spray holsters, and other technical accessories.

Materials and sustainability
The new material combination, composed of 210D UHMWPE Ripstop and 420D high tenacity nylon, ensures high abrasion resistance and long-lasting durability.
Alongside improving performance, Gregory has also invested in sustainability. The company uses a proprietary life cycle analysis system to monitor the environmental impact of its products throughout all phases, from production to disposal.
All materials used are PFAS-free, Bluesign® certified, and contain 40% recycled content, helping to reduce environmental impact without compromising performance and reliability.
