A 360° offer also in spring
In Pila, winter truly never ends. With approximately 70 kilometers of slopes served by 13 ski lifts and artificial snow covering nearly the entire ski area, the resort boasts a truly comprehensive offering, allowing quick access to even the highest altitudes and areas with the best snow-keeping. These areas remain open until spring, thanks to a direct connection up to the 2,723-meter Couis, easily reached in just about 30 minutes from the center of Aosta via the Aosta-Pila-Couis cable car.
The range includes wide, well-exposed slopes for intermediate skiers, technical high-altitude trails for expert skiers, areas dedicated to snowboarding and freestyle (Areaeffe Snowpark), a renovated Fun Slope for a dynamic, family-friendly experience, and the Chacard Snow Playground with snow tubing, bobsleighs, and sleds.

Pila also offers ski mountaineering trails, and during the spring months, guided snowshoe hikes continue, along with dinners in mountain huts accessible by snowcat, and activities linked to the Experience Park, which integrates sports, nature, and food and wine.
Pila also caters to those who want to experience the mountains without skiing: thanks to the direct connection to Aosta, you can enjoy cultural and gastronomic visits in the capital.

I Light Pila
Among the events that will liven up the spring ski season, on March 14th the return of I Light Pila, the solidarity torchlight procession that for over ten years has combined sport, participation and social commitment, involving ski instructors, families and guests of the resort.
A suggestive group descent on the slopes on skis, snowboards, snowshoes, or on foot, with the beams of pink LED torches piercing the evening darkness and making the snow shine with colorful reflections.
Organized by the L’Espace de Pila Tourist Consortium, Pila S.p.A., the Pila Ski Instructors, and the Municipality of Gressan, I Light Pila is held in collaboration with Komen Italia, a nonprofit organization committed to fighting breast cancer. The participation fee is €15 for adults and €8 for children, with proceeds going to Komen Italia’s prevention and research projects.

I Light Pila will begin around 6:30 PM and, as per tradition, will involve several points in the area, with departures from various refuges. This year, you can experience an extra thrill by descending from the Stella di Pila, the new panoramic refuge inaugurated on December 5th, which will remain open until sunset for the occasion.
Pedestrians will also be able to ride the cable car up to the top, turn on their pink torches, and descend to the valley by cable car, contributing to the luminous trail that will cross the valley.
There will be plenty of music and entertainment, with La Vale and Francesco Ciocca of Radio Deejay livening up the atmosphere in the event village from the morning: a true high-altitude celebration that will culminate with the arrival of the torchlight procession, when Pila will be transformed into a huge open-air stage.

Much more than a torchlight procession
“I Light Pila is the moment when our mountain adds extra meaning to everything it already offers, and every year it surprises us. Over the past twenty years, we’ve seen families, children, and skiers of all levels descend together, pink torches in hand, and each time we feel how much this event has become part of Pila’s soul. This year, we’re adding something extra: for the first time, the Stella di Pila will be part of the route, and for us, it’s a clear signal: the new immediately serves something valuable,” explains Davide Vuillermoz, president of Pila spa.
I Light Pila was the first winter solidarity torchlight procession linked to Komen Italia in a mountain setting, and in the eleven previous editions, the event has raised a total of over €120,000, becoming one of the most recognizable solidarity events of the Aosta Valley winter. “This experience has shown us how the mountains can become a place of extraordinary symbolic and unifying power, capable of engaging families, athletes, and local communities in a single collective gesture of awareness and sharing. It is precisely from the experience gained in Pila that we have drawn the confidence and organizational model to plan to extend the pink torchlight procession to other locations throughout the country, consolidating a path of growth and dissemination of our values,” commented Alba Di Leone, president of Komen Italia.
