BOA – Salomon S Pro Supra DIAL
We tested them,
we told you about the launch of the Boa Fit System in the Dual Dial version and a few days ago we tried it on the snow.
After two days on the snow of the Paganella area in Trentino I can tell you I am really enthusiastic about BOA.
We had all the boot models with the Boa Fit System Dual Dial available: from Dalbello to Atomic, from K2 to Head and Nordica.
I tried the Salomon S Pro Supra Dial.
I usually ski with Atomic Hawx Prime 4 buckles, so a boot with a flex of 120 and a good amount of power.
Well, the feeling with these Salomons, always with flex 120, is the same, indeed better.
The reason is linked precisely to the intentions of the BOA R&D department:
- • Eliminate pressure points by evenly wrapping the foot and shin
- • Effectively block the heel providing safety when cornering
- • Give the possibility to truly micro-adjust the fit of the boot
- • Speed up the closing of the boots and the subsequent adjustment

My impressions?
- • The boot is very easy to put on and take off (and the inner shoe too)
- • It is quick to adjust and a graduated scale on the shell and cuff allows you to remember the ideal closure
- • You feel a great wrapping of the foot and shin, not just pressure downwards and backwards.
- • The feeling when cornering is fantastic, you feel safe.
- • if the foot swells with the heat of the day you are immediately ready to widen the fit by one or two mm.
Currently developed on alpine ski models: BOA Fit Systema Dual Dial will be available on the market for the 2025/26 season.
The end of buckles? We’ll see…

Smith – Nexus
The Nexus from Smith is an evolution of the popular Quantum helmet, with a progressive, lightweight, low-profile design that integrates the brand’s most advanced technologies. Designed for long-lasting protection, the Nexus’ hybrid construction combines a durable outer shell with a protective exoskeleton, fused into a lightweight, molded shell. It also features full Koroyd® coverage, which absorbs impacts and provides optimal ventilation.
The MIPS® Brain Protection System reduces rotational forces resulting from oblique impacts, further improving safety. The Fidlock® quick release buckle ensures a secure and easy one-handed closure.
For comfort and fit, the BOA® 360 Fit System allows for real-time micro-adjustments, while Ionic+™ antimicrobial coating controls sweat-induced odor. Removable earpads provide additional comfort and are compatible with Smith x Aleck™ audio systems (sold separately).
The Nexus helmet also features 24 adjustable vents and Smith’s AirEvac™ ventilation system, which allows for independent control of the front and rear vents. This system is designed to seamlessly integrate with the Smith goggle, maintaining continuous airflow for comfort and optimal fog-free visibility.

Smith 4D Mag XL
Smith developed BirdsEye Vision, an advanced technology that extends and curves the lens below the line of sight, reducing peripheral distractions and expanding the overall field of view. The new 4D MAG™ XL takes this innovation a step further, increasing the lens geometry by 20% over the previous model. It also features Smith’s updated MAG technology, which integrates two locking mechanisms into the frame outriggers, allowing for quick, safe and easy lens changes.
The 4D MAG™ XL utilizes Smith’s proprietary ChromaPop™ technology, optimized to enhance visibility and clarity beyond traditional capabilities. Available in 16 different colors, including a photochromic version that automatically adjusts color based on the light, this goggle enhances detail and enhances natural colors. Each goggle comes with two high-performance ChromaPop™ lenses, ideal for low-light and bright conditions.
Other features include DriWix 3-layer face foam, which provides increased comfort and absorbs approximately 50% more moisture than standard foams. Pockets cut into the foam allow you to wear eyeglasses under the goggle without adding pressure. The QuickFit clip-on buckle system provides a custom fit, while the extra-wide strap with silicone support ensures the goggle stays put when worn with a helmet.

Smith – Ultralight
The Ultralite returns with an oversized fit and the classic cylindrical shield lens, featuring a slight wraparound curve and venting for airflow when the dance floor heats up. Modern updates include the use of Evolve™ biomaterial for a lightweight, durable frame, along with ChromaPop™ lens technology, which enhances contrast and color for a superior visual experience.
For comfort and convenience, megol nose pads offer a non-slip grip, adapting to sweat and humidity. Self-locking hinges allow for easy one-handed opening of the frame, making it easy to put on and take off. Additionally, the temple tips are compatible with the eyeglass-inspired strap, keeping the frame secure during use.
Available in five colorways, Ultralite features exclusively ChromaPop™ lenses, designed to reduce glare and enhance contrast, definition, natural color and clarity, with smudge- and moisture-resistant coatings for easy cleaning.
