The Rotpunkt Low LL is Hanwag’s homage to the climbing pioneers of the 1970s and 1980s who revolutionised the sport with their free ascents and the philosophy of redpointing, paving the way for the development of climbing as we know it today all over the world. But Hanwag’s new model is much more than just a nostalgic nod to a key period in climbing history: it is a modern, versatile and functional shoe designed for the new generation of outdoor enthusiasts and urban explorers. Climbing is an integral part of Hanwag’s history. In the early 1980s, the Bavarian mountain shoe brand was one of the first companies in the world to create rock shoes specifically designed for sport climbing. And Hanwag had already celebrated this connection with a first Rotpunkt model presented in an earlier collection.

Technical features

The new Rotpunkt Low LL, available in men’s and women’s models, combines the timeless design of the original classic climbing model with subtle unisex colors, pastel shades and special color accents. The shoe offers excellent wearing comfort and a pleasant foot climate thanks to the breathable, PFC-free and chromium-free leather lining.

High functionality is guaranteed by the high-quality and durable split leather upper with robust Cordura inserts, combined with a lightweight Vibram® sole that guarantees optimal grip on a wide range of surfaces. For this reason, the new Rotpunkt Low LL from Hanwag is ideal for both outdoor activities and everyday use in the city. Further functional details include the rear heel loop typical of climbing shoes, for attaching the shoe to the back of a backpack.
