The 2025 IFCA Grand Slam Slalom World Championships in Alaçatı concluded after a week filled with anticipation, excitement, and the unique charm that this iconic surfing city always has to offer.

Despite the forecast winds not always being favorable, the fleets made the most of every opportunity. Foiling races dominated the week, showcasing the sport’s progress with athletes pushing their limits and engaging in spectacular high-speed battles.

Day one started with solid foil conditions, providing close racing and setting the tone for the event.
Day two brought a break, with light winds forcing sailors ashore, turning the day into a relaxed rest day.
Day three saw action return with increasing wind, two more foil eliminations, and the first discards in play, shaking up the Youth, Women, and Open fleet standings.

Unfortunately, both the fourth and final days saw the fleets on hold, as the hoped-for thermal winds never arrived, sadly leaving the fin slalom races out of the running this year.

However, the atmosphere remained electric throughout the day, with athletes demonstrating great patience and sportsmanship, and even joining in a fun SUP race on the final day to celebrate community and friendship.

And most importantly, today we crowned the new Slalom Foil World Champions!

A huge thank you to Myga Surf City, Vakkorama, Powerapp, Surf Garden, and all the partners, sponsors, and volunteers for making this event possible.
Alaçatı has once again proven itself to be one of the world’s most iconic windsurfing destinations, and we can’t wait to return!

The next event on the IFCA calendar is the IFCA Fin & Foil Slalom European Championships in Torbole, Lake Garda, from October 14th to 19th, 2025.
And looking ahead, the 2026 IFCA Grand Slam Fin & Foil Slalom World Championships will be held in Leucate, southern France, from April 20th to 26th, 2026.
