WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS April 03 / 10 – Foca, TURKEY
Grand Finale in Foça for the 265 competitors!
The 2026 World Championships ended on a high note with three races
crushed on the final day, bringing the total to 10 races run for the
265 competitors who appreciated the high quality of the organization
both on land and on the water.
A truly exceptional event that will remain a benchmark for the Techno 293
class, more dynamic than ever!
After a strong start to the competition, sailed in strong to medium winds,
with six races completed over the first two days, the weather shifted to a
summer vibe and the wind went away. Wednesday’s calm forced the sailors to
stay ashore and wait for the slightest breeze, but to no avail. On Thursday,
a fickle wind allowed for only one race.
Everything came down to the final day. Facing uncertain forecasts and a tight
schedule before the prize-giving ceremony, the Race Committee pushed hard
to get everyone on the water early. It was a a wise decision as an unexpected
North breeze gradually built to 15-18 knots under sunshine. Three back-to-back
races followed, featuring intense battles for the podium and the overall rankings!
A spectacular closing ceremony and a wild after-party celebrated the winners
late into the night. It was a total success for the 2026 World Championship,
a week that will stick in the memory of every sailor. Beyond the competition,
the friendly atmosphere and rich exchanges were just as important as the
competition itself. The Techno Spirit truly ruled in Foça, launching the season
in the best possible way.
See you in Sopot, Poland at the end of July for the European Championships !
