SIMOND, part of Decathlon for several years, has always offered technical, well-designed and manufactured products, and in recent years it has continued to improve.

It’s no surprise, then, that the MT 900 ULTRALIGHT 50 L delivers on its promises. Here’s how it’s made…

Simond MT 900 Ultralight 50 L, for whom it is designed

It’s a 50-liter backpack, so it’s quite roomy and suitable for multi-day treks. Not necessarily geared toward mountaineering, a backpack like this is also perfect for a trek like the Via Francigena or the Camino de Santiago, or even a multi-day trip to a European capital.

Here’s how it’s done

The main material is a ripstop polyamide fabric, coated internally, as light as it is robust, which tips the scales at 880 g.

But sturdiness and lightness aren’t everything, as numerous features make it a reliable and truly comfortable product, even after hours of walking with a full load. The volume, varying from 50 to 55 L, can be adjusted using the practical and modern Roll Top closure and the compression cords that wrap it around.

Inside the 39L main volume there is a connection for the hydration bladder (not included) and a medium-sized zipped pocket for storing valuables.

The external compartments are particularly prominent, even from a design point of view, and what appears to be a single large horizontal pocket is actually divided internally into two 3.5 L “bottle holders” with a larger 4.5 L horizontal space in the centre, which can be closed with a clip.

Poles can also be attached to the outside and various loops can be used to secure extra cargo.

The comfort will make you love it

We were talking about comfort, well that’s what the backrest with a curved metal frame takes care of, which stretches the breathable mesh in contact with the back, while the shoulder straps (in dual density foam), adjustable in length and depth, can be adjusted according to your height by acting on simple and practical clips.

The MT 900 ULTRALIGHT 50 L can be tailored to your measurements, secured around your waist with the belt, which features a spacious zipped pocket, and across your chest with the adjustable strap. Lightness, comfort, and style. The MT 900 ULTRALIGHT 50 L has it all. Its understated color makes it suitable not only for the mountains but also for backpacking.
