Day 4: Young people take center stage for the first time this week

U15 women

Trine Gobisch (Duotone Windsurfing) won both opening finals of the U15 Women’s fleet, twice defeating Japan’s Fumi Akita (Goya Windsurfing / Severne Sails) with a combination of bow loops and tabletops that proved more than sufficient in the air, while Gobisch’s wave riding was also top-notch.

U15 Boys

The semi-finals of the Boys’ U15 division were also completed, but unfortunately conditions deteriorated before the single elimination final could be played, so we will have to wait another day to see the conclusion.

In the opening semifinal, Elías Antolín (Duotone Windsurfing) won with an excellent forward loop, demonstrating a wide range of riding, and secured first place in the final. Anton Gobisch (Duotone Windsurfing) secured the other spot in the final by beating Daniel Dunkerbeck (Starboard / Severne Sails).

In the second semifinal, Yannik Golb Gonzalez (Simmer / Simmer Sails) performed a confident performance to advance to the final, while Koa Fabbio-Blanch (Naish) secured the other qualifying position thanks to his better jumping scores.

U13 Boys

Dennis Kolb Gonzalez scored a resounding victory over his brother Eric Kolb Gonzalez and Robby Swift’s (JP/NeilPryde) son Rocco in the opening final, but the second final proved much tighter, with only two points separating Dennis and Eric. Ultimately, however, Dennis prevailed once again, taking a 2-0 lead in the U13 Boys division.

The forecast for Wednesday is very similar to today’s in terms of wind, but the swell is expected to ease slightly to 0.8 meters from 1.1 meters. All fleets, except the Masters, which has been granted another day off, will meet at 10:30 (GMT+1) for the skippers’ meeting, with the action starting from 11:00 onwards.
