The eleventh edition of the PWA World Cup in Tenerife will kick off tomorrow with its traditional opening batucada.
Yesterday, the official presentation of the Playa Surf Tenerife El Médano Windsurf Grand Slam 2025 took place at the Playa Surf CBbC Hotel. The event will be held from August 1st to 10th at El Cabezo beach. The presentation was attended by institutional representatives, collaborators, and several international riders.
Speakers at the event included José Domingo Regalado, Mayor of Granadilla de Abona; Eudita Mendoza, Councillor for Tourism; Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, Councillor for Municipal Services, Environment, and Beaches; and Dani Bruch, professional windsurfer and event promoter.
This year, the world championship goes beyond the sporting aspect and is positioned as a meeting point for windsurfing enthusiasts, featuring a wide program of cultural activities, concerts, culinary offerings, and sustainability talks. This edition aims to deliver a holistic experience where sport merges with leisure, culture, and respect for the environment.

Tomorrow, starting at 9:30 a.m., the official competitor registration will take place at the event’s main tent, located on El Cabezo beach. The competition disciplines will include Wave (men’s and women’s) and Slalom X — the latter being the main novelty of this edition.
As tradition dictates, the official opening ceremony of the championship will be held at 7:00 p.m. with an inaugural parade. The BloKo del Valle batucada will accompany the procession from the main tent to the Playa Surf Hotel.
