Filmed in Italy and France, the series explores the daily lives of two parents who take their two boys to the wild places that shaped them. From ski trips to coastal climbs to quiet days spent cultivating their own vegetable garden, Disaster Style is a portrait of parenthood that embraces adventure, the unexpected and the unforeseen.
“If you push your kids beyond what they think they can handle – whether it’s cold, tired or wet – they’ll realize they can do much more than they ever imagined,” explains Zoe, an American mountain guide based in Chamonix and one of the few women to have achieved IFMGA (International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations) certification.
Zoe and Max have spent their lives chasing extreme slopes and lofty peaks. Now they’re learning to share those spaces—and the joy, risk, and meaning they bring—with their children.
“I thrive on authentic moments in nature, with real consequences and satisfaction. I want my children to have these kinds of experiences because I believe they will make them happy and shape them into good people, with strong values and solid priorities. This is what I hope to find in the next generation.”
Directed by Pierre Cadot of Yucca Films, the first episode of Disaster Style will be available today on YouTube, with subsequent episodes to be released on June 25 and July 2. The series is available here.
