While hikers once exclusively hiked on alpine trails, at varying altitudes, today almost all of us trek on a variety of paths, depending on the season and the time available. Gravel roads, paths that alternate between hills and plains, and mid-mountain trails. Having a single shoe for each of these is unsustainable for various reasons, but at the same time, finding a shoe that meets such diverse needs is a daunting challenge.
Renegade EVO GTX Mid is an excellent answer to the versatile hiker, because it is born from the artisanal footwear tradition but has been able to evolve into a modern product, both from an aesthetic and functional point of view.
The upper, made entirely of natural suede, lends a premium look and ensures good durability. The shape perfectly accommodates a medium-width foot, without gaps or pressure points, and the mid-height ensures high stability even on uneven terrain without bothering the ankle area. The outsole is suitable for versatile use on different terrains, with a good flex coefficient for comfort on dirt roads yet protective enough to avoid tiring the sole of the foot on rocky terrain. The Vibram tread offers excellent grip, both on stone and dirt.
The upper features a Gore-Tex membrane, breathable and suitable for summer weather but waterproof in case of rain. In my opinion, the Renegade EVO GTX Mid is a shoe that immediately feels like yours: comfortable, modern, and reliable. A quality product appreciated by a very wide range of hikers.
Design
The Mid cut and the natural leather upper are a strong reference to the concept of a classic hiking boot, however the geometric design of the upper panels and the reinforcements in the midsole give that modern touch that is also appreciated by the new generations.
Construction
The strobel construction, which consists of sewing the upper to a lightweight insole and the double-injection sole give the shoe lightness and softness.
Repairability
Hooks and eyes are repairable, as are the seams, heel lining and collar.
