More sun, wind, and entertainment at the Circolo Surf Torbole: two more fin slaloms with Jordy Vonk still in the lead.

A memorable fourth day for the IFCA European Championships Slalom Fin & Foil, an event organized by Circolo Surf Torbole in collaboration with the IFCA (International Funboard Class Association) on behalf of the Italian Sailing Federation.
Sunshine, pleasant temperatures, and winds consistently above 12 knots allowed the fin slalom races to continue, providing another great spectacle on Garda Trentino and bringing the number of fin slalom races to four.

The men’s event featured two eliminations, as in previous days, while the women competed in six direct finals, bringing the total number of races completed to twelve, including in the FIN discipline. In the men’s event, Dutchman Jordy Vonk (NED 69) consolidated his lead with two wins and a second place (with a third place discarded): he maintains a five-point advantage over Taty Frans (Bonaire), second overall and first among the Masters, who won the second race of the day. Germany’s Nicolas Prien (GER 7) is in third place, just 0.6 points behind. Malte Reuscher (GER 777) and Bruno Martini (ITA 160), representing Circolo Surf Torbole, are tied two points off the podium. Sacha Fortune (FRA 751) achieved an excellent sixth place overall and first Youth finish, while Andrea Cucchi (ITA 1), second among the Masters, climbs to eleventh place. There were no substantial changes in the women’s rankings, where Justine Lemeteyer (FRA 171) remains firmly in command in the Fin discipline, followed by Femke van der Veen (NED 2251) and Charlotte Philip (FRA 191). The girls have now completed 12 races in the Foil category and the same number in the Fin category.

On the eve of the final day, the Championship confirmed its extremely high technical and organizational level, with ideal wind conditions that for four days consistently exceeded 10-11 knots, guaranteeing a spectacular show and exciting racing.

For tomorrow, Sunday, October 19th, the program includes – wind permitting – a fin slalom race and a foil race to conclude these 2025 IFCA European Championships in the best possible way. Meanwhile, among the staff of both the organizing club, the international class and the Race Committee, there is an air of satisfaction for the high number of races (always not easy to complete due to the rather high minimum wind limit, especially in the fin slalom discipline).
