Brooks Glycerin 22, equipped with the new DNA Tuned technology with which the midsole was developed, is the best Glycerin ever. Until now, it has been the classic running shoe that everyone has agreed on. Comfortable enough, cushioned enough to do even a marathon in it at a not-too-fast pace and good responsiveness, but the 22 I tested is really a lot of extra stuff confirming that DNA Tuned really does make a difference!

Design

Great attention to the smallest detail, with machined upper and reinforcement details that embellish the design. The DNA Tuned midsole with side holes and exposed translucent material make it truly unique. Each component has been carefully chosen to ensure not only high performance, but also an attractive look.

Fitting

The closure system is firm and very comfortable, providing excellent fit and adaptability to the foot. Very good control of the heel counter with no particular pressure points on the foot and tendon. The laces tighten very well and double knotting is not necessary. I really appreciated the tongue which, thanks to its light padding, allows perfect tightening without bothering the back of the foot. In addition, the inside of the shoe is designed to minimize friction, preventing blisters and irritation even during longer runs.

Comfort

Comfort is one of the strong points of these shoes, although you should by no means think of the fit as particularly soft and unsupportive. The upper is soft, that’s for sure, and the degree of cushioning definitely high, minimizing the impact on the foot and making running outings certainly enjoyable. For the test, I alternated runs of 8-10 kilometers with others of 15-18 kilometers and the foot never suffered.

Breathability

The breathable mesh upper ensures that the foot stays cool and dry even during longer runs. Ventilation is excellent, preventing overheating, although I tested the shoe in winter, so with temperatures absolutely in line with the season. The shoe always maintains good ventilation, limiting moisture and sweat.

Grip

On dry asphalt no problem, while I found it ineffective on wet. Problem solved by thinking of the Glycerin as a shoe model not to be used in the rotation on bad weather days. The sole still offers good grip on dry surfaces for a safe and stable ride.

Stability

It definitely convinced me. The amount of foam under the foot is by no means exaggerated, maintaining what are the characteristics of the previous versions with different midsoles from the DNA Tuned, with a good scamping that ensures stability to the supports. The shoe offers a perfect balance between cushioning and support, allowing a smooth and secure ride even on uneven terrain. The sturdy heel construction keeps the foot well positioned throughout the stride.

Protection

The new Glycerin and especially the physical characteristics of the DNA Tuned foam ensure good protection and, in my opinion, good support as well. Although the protection is higher than other models, it still remains lightweight and unobtrusive. This makes the shoe ideal for those looking for a compromise between protection and lightness.

Brooks Glycerin 22 is recommended for…

Brooks Glycerin 22 is recommendedRunner of long distances: With superior comfort and generous cushioning, they are ideal for marathons and half-marathons. Ideal for runners looking for a comfortable shoe that still maintains good character if you decide to push on the accelerator. The combination of comfort and performance makes these shoes suitable for anyone who wants to improve their performance without sacrificing the well-being of their feet.ta for
