The 2025 version of the BETA AR, Arc’teryx’s iconic jacket, is now available. This new version features an improved design and is made from GORE-TEX PRO ePE. The new membrane—free of intentionally added PFAS—has been incorporated in 100D fabric on the yoke, arms, and hood for optimal protection in the most moisture-prone areas, and in 80D fabric on the body for lighter weight protection.

The decision to use this new fabric—which not only blocks water and has a much lower environmental impact than other membranes, but is also lighter thanks to its drastically reduced thickness—further demonstrates Arc’teryx’s commitment to creating garments with unique design and incredible performance, capable of supporting athletes and mountain enthusiasts in every situation.
Technical features
The 2025 version of the BETA AR, in fact, includes all the best technologies and innovations that Arc’teryx has been able to develop and create over the last 25 years:
- MICRO SEAM TECHNOLOGY – micro-seams that halve the stitch width, reducing weight, bulk and material usage, while increasing flexibility and breathable surface area
- WATERTIGHT ZIP – The reverse spiral design of this stitching orients the more compact internal surface of the zip towards the outside, thus ensuring greater protection from the elements. The use of these zips has further reduced the weight of the jacket by eliminating double and bulky flaps.
- DROPHOOD HOOD – Adjustable and helmet-compatible, it follows the movements of your head, for maximum protection without limiting peripheral vision.
- RECCO® REFLECTOR – lightweight and small in size in the hood visor to facilitate search and rescue operations in case of emergency
- POCKETS – Two zipped hand pockets, easily accessible even with a backpack, to keep essentials safe
- NEW STRONGER DRAWSTRINGS – Adjustable drawstrings inside the hood and at the waist for greater adjustment of the jacket so you are always more protected from the wind.
