ALUULA fabric also arrives in backpacks, with Arc’Teryx
Made in collaboration with the materials manufacturer ALUULA Composites, this backpack embodies the brand’s philosophy, which is based on the continuous search for innovative solutions for mountain sports enthusiasts, ensuring products that offer high performance.
Inspired by the iconic Alpha FL, the new Alpha SL maintains the performance and reliability of its predecessor, but with a 50% reduction in weight. This makes it the perfect companion for covering long distances in alpine environments, where weight is a critical factor in achieving objectives.
Weighing just 428 g (316 g without hipbelt and compression straps), the Alpha SL combines durability and lightness thanks to its three-layer ALUULA GraphlyteTM construction. Thanks to advanced ALUULA technology and Arc’teryx expertise in lamination and material innovation, the pack is assembled using a proprietary fusion process that combines technical fibers and modern materials.
The result is a pack that is highly abrasion and water resistant, with a smooth surface that reduces points of failure and makes maintenance easier. If damage does occur, it can be easily repaired in the field with durable, self-adhesive patches, ensuring extended durability. Beginning in Fall/Winter 2025, the patch kit will be available free of charge at Arc’teryx ReBIRD Service Centers.

Ultra-durable and waterproof, the Alpha SL is an ultra-lightweight evolution of the Alpha FL, designed for athletes who push themselves to the limit in the mountains, where weight is critical to achieving their goals. It is the lightest model Arc’teryx offers for technical rock, ice and alpine climbing.
The Alpha SL pack offers the same performance and reliability as the Alpha FL, but with more than 50% less weight. It is made of ALUULA GraflyteTM, a fabric that combines layers of ultra-light and ultra-strong polymer films through a patented fusion process, to create a single material that offers incredible resistance to wear and tear. The pack is so light that it hardly feels like you are wearing it, so the only weight you will be carrying is that of your equipment.
Any damage from extended use can be repaired in the field with durable, self-adhesive patches, allowing you to continue using your pack and extend its useful life. The Alpha SL Pack Patch Kit will be available at Arc’teryx ReBird Service Centers at no additional charge, beginning in Fall/Winter 2025.
