A collaboration that combines sport, workwear and lifestyle

Carhartt W.I.P. and the translation of workwear into contemporary language

Always capable of transforming workwear into a contemporary cultural code,  Carhartt W.I.P reinterprets a key model from the Salomon universe with a more rugged, concrete, and conscious aesthetic. The result is a sneaker that retains its technical DNA yet fits seamlessly into a lifestyle context, moving between urban environments and extreme landscapes.

Salomon X-ALP: a technical sneaker designed to last

The X-ALP Carhartt W.I.P  is born from years of shared design experience and in-depth materials research. Grainy leather and suede inserts define the shoe’s structure, while Carhartt W.I.P.’s signature camouflage introduces an instantly recognizable visual element, strengthening the connection with the world of workwear and the culture that surrounds it.

Materials, protection and functionality at the heart of the design

Function and protection remain central to the project. The protective toecap, ripstop fabric, Sensifit™ system, and Contagrip® outsole are integrated into a streamlined design, engineered to last and adapt to a variety of environments. A sneaker built to withstand everyday wear and tear, but also to tell a story of solidity and vision.

A visual campaign between narrative and cinematic imagery

Completing the project is a visual campaign directed by Bailey Marklew that pushes the collaboration into a narrative and almost cinematic dimension. Set in a remote outpost plagued by electromagnetic anomalies and gravitational distortions, the campaign follows a group of researchers as an invisible presence manifests.

A creature perceptible only through moving filaments, as if searching for something once lost but still existing. A powerful image that becomes a metaphor for what endures over time: function, memory, and identity.

The Carhartt W.I.P. X-ALP is available from December 18th at 10:00 am on salomon.com, carhartt-wip.com, at the Salomon Store in Milan Brera (Corso Garibaldi, 12) and at selected retailers, starting from €160.00.
