Daida Moreno and Marino Gil win the chaotic Super Session that concludes the 37th edition of the Gloria Windsurf World Cup in Gran Canaria
The final day of the 2025 Gloria Windsurf World Cup in Gran Canaria concluded with further competition for the Youth and Masters, while a chaotic Super Session was held after the event to bring the curtain down on the 37th edition of the event.
Super session
The half-hour Super Session took place at 2:30 PM, devolving into pure chaos with all the sailors on the water at once. It ended up being a double-forward fest, with Marino Gil (JP/NeilPryde/MFC) and Daida Moreno (Bruch Boards/Bruch Sails/Maui Ultra Fins) winning the men’s and women’s double-forward races. Meanwhile, Philip Köster (Severne/Severne Sails) took second place with a double-forward, while Ricardo Campello (MFC) rounded out the men’s podium with a double-forward. In the women’s race, Sol Degrieck (Severne/Severne Sails) took second place with a double-forward attempt, while Justyna Sniady (Flikka/North Sails/Maui Ultra Fins) rounded out the top three with a table-top bow.
Master
Earlier in the day, reigning world champion Mike Friedl (Goya Windsurfing) put an end to Toni Pijoan’s (Severne / Severne Sails) comeback through the double to defend his second place, but with Lars Gobisch (Duotone Windsurfing) unfortunately having to retire early, Friedl clinched the event victory here in Gran Canaria.
Boys U15
Yannik Kolb Gonzalez sailed well to defend his Single Elimination win and defeated a valiant effort from Koa Fabbio (Naish / Naish Sails), who finishes this year’s event in second place, while Elías Antolín (Duotone Windsurfing) rounded out the podium.
Girls U13
Trine Gobisch (Duotone Windsurfing) dominated the event in style: the young German achieved a hat-trick of overall victories and deservedly took first place in the U13 Women’s division, with Fumi Akita (Goya Windsurfing / Severne Sails) finishing in second place.
Boys U13
In the third and final heat of the U13 boys, Dennis Kolb Gonzalez won once again ahead of his brother Eric Kolb Gonzalez and Rocco Swift.
