A new webcam arrives directly on one of the most popular spots of the “winter” season, Sunset Beach in Cape Town, South Africa.
We’re entering the time of year when much of the windsurfing world is eyeing the South African Cape Doctor season, the famous southeast wind that blows regularly from November to March. The area is full of fantastic spots, and you can easily find various reports on our website. One spot, however, stands out in the daily search for the perfect spot, or your favorite: Sunset Beach. This is the first spot the wind hits, where you can gauge the direction and quality of the swell and plan your day accordingly. Personally, for over 20 years during my winter stay in South Africa, it’s the first spot I check in the morning and where I always try to start my camps/courses.
Well, starting today, thanks to the collaboration between Sunset Residence and ReLiveCam, with the help of Flywave, it’s possible to check out the new and original live webcam directly at the spot, including all the weather information such as wind direction and intensity, temperature, etc. A useful tool that we’re sure will be widely followed and appreciated, and perhaps even to let us dream a little while watching the beautiful wind and wave conditions in Cape Town.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the first of two windsurfing clinics/camps (managed by myself) and wing surfing clinics (managed by Matteo Guazzoni) will take place in South Africa from December 29th to January 3rd, with the operational base at the Sunset Residence.
