With Bergtagen, its line dedicated to skiing, snowboarding and mountaineering above the tree line, this path takes an even more decisive step towards the world of high altitude.

Launched in 2017, Bergtagen returns for autumn/winter 2025 with an expanded and further refined range: from base layers and insulation, ski and snowboard backpacks, to robust shell jackets developed in collaboration with GORE-TEX, the brand’s long-standing partner.

Bertagen, tested and approved by mountain guides
Since its inception, Bergtagen has grown thanks to its collaboration with the SBO, the Swedish Mountain Guides Association. This partnership is based on shared values: sustainability, safety, and an approach to the mountains that works with nature, not against it.
Mountain guides, working daily in extreme environments, provide continuous feedback that allows Fjällräven to improve the performance, reliability and repairability of its products.

“Equipment is crucial for safety and performance. Many of our guides contributed to the development of Bergtagen with feedback from real-world use in the alpine environment, an invaluable way to create gear that truly meets the needs of our work.”
– Rasmus Krogerus, SBO Director, Alpine Guide UIAGM/IFMGA/IVBV
The return of GORE-TEX and a more sustainable technology
At the heart of Bergtagen’s evolution is the renewed collaboration with GORE-TEX, which introduces the new ePE membrane, PFAS Free and characterized by a reduced environmental impact. This technology ensures waterproofness, wind protection, and breathability without compromise.
For the most technical adventures and challenging altitudes, the Bergtagen GTX Pro jacket and trousers use GORE-TEX PRO fabrics, designed to ensure maximum durability and breathability in the most severe conditions.

For ski mountaineering, snowboarding, and long days in the backcountry, Fjällräven offers Bergtagen GTX Touring jackets and pants, made with GORE-TEX Performance: lightweight, protective, and designed to facilitate dynamic movements in variable conditions. Details like the integrated powder skirt, ventilation zips, and ski pass pockets complete these garments designed to fully experience the winter season.
